No, not python files, only the data files, which have no icon whatsoever. Because I use ".smf", MAC OS X thinks it's "Kind" is "MIDI audio", but opens in TextEdit.app as I have specified in the "Open with" box on the Info screen. The icon box at the top is selectable with cut, paste, and copy, but is not scriptable at this time, however I can change the data file's icon by hand, using those commands.
Some have wanted a way to do a whole folder of icon changes by python script. Perhaps if there was an actual executable program that reads the files and saves them with new icons, that would probably work.
