$45 is the retail price so if you bought it in a store you paid what you would pay from most stores. There are some stores that sell at a discount but not many. Certainly none near me. If you buy it online you can easily find it for less, http://boardgameprices.com/game.aspx?id=101276, just remember you have to add shipping. which is going to eat up most of the difference. Many online sellers will offer free or discounted shipping on large orders but then you have to play a larger order, usually in the $100-$150 range.
