Bah. Slashdot is still running on mysql. An couple orders of magnitude more traffic and no complaints of downtime.
And I'd consider MS-SQL and Oracle it two different leagues. If money was no object, sure I'd go with Oracle. Otherwise mysql and postregsql do well when administered correctly.
