It is a great game. I got it about a week ago. My son and I have played it about 9-10 times and enjoy it. If I had to list negatives from playing it and from reading the BGG reviews etc...
Cons: - Lots of shuffling - Not as much variety as it may appear. 25 Action cards isnt that many. Think if you played MTG with only 25 cards. - Not quite enough interaction with the other players as some would like. An expansion could easily remedy this though or play with the attack cards all the time. That last item is why some people refer to it as ultiplayer solitaire. All that said...we enjoy the game quite a bit. When you pull off a victory with some cool long combination of like 10 cards and buy the last 2 Victory point cards to end the game its pretty satisfying. Also when it clicks for the first time on some cleaver strategy or combination you really get satisfaction from that as well. I have not played it yet with 3+ people so dont know how it adjusts. But with 2 players it is fun and moves along pretty fast once you learn the cards etc. Good luck!
