Stone Age is probably the most famous and popular Euro that would fit your requirements. Agricola is another obvious choice, but even the family game version may seem too complicated for some. I'm a fan of "Traders of Carthage" a light card game with some interesting mechanics, beautiful components, and some interaction. It's by the designer of R-Eco, another great light card game. Afraid off the top of my head I can't think of any other good Euros that came out in the last year.
