I don't know what people have against Amyitis. I and my group really like it. Nice, medium work placement game with many things going on. Newbs take to it quickly and I find lots of replay value.
Some times I want to play Caylus and really get down to it and some times I want a lighter worker placement game. Amyitis fills that niche for me. Haven't played Cuba, so can't comment.
