My local online retailer is having a sale and Dominion:Intrigue is one of the items on offer.
I have pondered about getting Dominion for the longest but have hesitated due to the fact that I burned myself out on the original game on BSW. I found that most hands simply play themselves and there seems to be limited interaction between players. I've heard that Intrigue offers more decisions and involves more player interaction. It seems that it addresses my issues with the original to some extent. However, I am looking to intro the game to casual players and am concerned if it's truly too complex. How does it compare with say Settlers of Catan? Also, I have heard that Intrigue adds to game time quite a bit. What's the average game length? Or am I kidding myself and should just resist the temptation. I suppose Traders of Carthage is an option too....better with casuals?
