Seattle - In a move that has been described as optimistically risky Wizards of the Coast has purchased the rights to the internationally iconic Board Game Geek website. As both the Wizards and BGG sites went down at the end of March in order to orchestrate the takeover executives were nervous about leaks that might lead to hacking. However these fears seem to be completely unfounded at this point as the preparations are now complete as the site readies for an early April relaunch.
According to Greg Leeds, President of Wizards of the Coast, their parent company Hasbro was initially not in favor of this move. However, after several votes by the board an algorithm was created that provided enough measurable consensus to allow the deal to go forward. "We are excited about this move becasue it will allow us a great deal of unfiltered marketing across a broad range of the gaming community at virtually no cost," Leeds told sources. He went on to briefly explain a plan for a revamped website that will include unblockable animations, banners, and other content advertising Wizards of the Coast and even Hasbro products on every page of the site. "This is really a no risk opportunity," mused Leeds. "If BGG proves to be a liability we can always shut down the site permanently and reap the benefits of a tax write-off." -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BGG Down" group.
