Just found out that an announcement will be made later today again informing us that Hasbro will be buying boardgamegeek (plus all related websites like rpggeek, videogamegeek etc).
This will be an all stock deal. Boardgamegeek will receive 165,000 shares in Hasbro stock. It appears Hasbro contacted boardgamegeek last week and all legal issues were worked out rather fast. I think that would technically make Scott and Derek millionaires. Good for them. Nobody will be losing a job, all current employees will stay employed as Hasbro employees. Not too much should change for us users in the near future except for seeing some Hasbro logos appear on the website. The guys from boardgamegeek have been using this weekend to make some changes.
