Short and Sweet: Black Sands is arena combat for 2-4 players with energy management and tense, quick playthroughs. For me, it's Mage Wars without the analysis paralysis and the time investment. Since BGG is down I can't link to my review of it, but I really liked this game when I participated in some late round playtesting two weeks ago.
