Scheduled maintenance isn't concerning. If there *wasn't* scheduled maintenance, it'd be concerning.
The only way to make great change is to... well... make great change. If indeed there *have been* a lot of outages, it's not surprising this would be the pattern. You experience problems which bring the site down, you do a quick fix to get it up, you bring it down for a minor fix which should fix problems, it doesn't, site goes down again, you devise a more robust change which requires a more formal downtime, you put it in. BGG is a marvel in how *infrequent* downtime is. For the amount of data which is moved, for the amount of users which are online, and for the relatively minimal scope the website has (it's no Amazon), Aldie is doing a miraculous job with this site. Don't be concerned. These aren't "ill omens".
