Sorry for misinterpreting! I'm surprised at the "this again"
response as intended. I often find myself looking at the game on the table
and thinking to myself that it was worth one play, but it's not something I
want to revisit again.
This past Monday I played Castles of Burgundy for the first time
and I think I'm done with it. I know it's very popular. I enjoyed the
experience, but nothing said "do it again" to me at the end. I get the
feeling it's a dependable play, and I have other dependable plays that I
prefer.
We then played Firefly with all the extensions, and man oh man did
I get some bad draws and just flounder on what should have been easy
things. They call it an adventure game, but after the play I said (to my
buddy Chris Schenck) that it should be called a misadventure game. Things
go pear-shaped in short order, and my well thought-out plans just didn't
survive contact with the travel decks. I would love to have another go at
it this coming week. In spite of getting my head handed to me in Firefly
(and in spite of a win at Burgundy) I think it's a game I'd use to fill in
the blank in the future. I think there's more exploration to do with
Firefly.
