( No flexibility) Will need candidates local to the tristate as an in-person interview is mandatory. This Java Lead will report to the Director of Software Development and own delivery of several highly strategic Java-based initiatives. The person in this position will be responsible for overseeing all technical design and development handled by 10+ resources, including integration with the company's other Java, .NET, and InterSystems Cache environments. This position will use existing Agile methodologies to partner with Product Owners, operational support staff, other development groups, and their development team to plan, design, and execute on delivering all application development needs of the company's production systems. You should be a natural software leader in providing project direction, technical and process governance, and can partner with different groups, including clinical staff, tech operations, infrastructure groups, testers, and support personnel. Responsibilities 1. Work with Product Owners, Project Managers, and development teams to plan and execute projects in Agile environment 2. Support and participate in all phases of the Agile development process 3. Partner with peer development leads on technology design approaches and development teams on estimation of tasks 4. Ensure development and test teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources 5. Work closely with the Product Owners and peer development leads to understand, design, and estimate solutions to deliver on functional and non-functional requirements 6. Demonstrate leadership in planning, coordinating, and executing rollouts of complex software releases delivering enhancements and fixes on schedule within minimal disruption to the business 7. Be an out-of-the-box thinking resource to your development leads throughout their design and development efforts 8. Develop and monitor employees' and vendor resource performance Qualifications Required 1. 5+ Year's experience leading teams developing Java Spring and Scala applications 2. Experience leading software teams in an Agile development environment 3. Experience developing a culture of unit testing and continuous integration as a delivery strategy 4. Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff to achieve desired outcomes and build strong alliances and relationships 5. Experience working with multiple teams across a portfolio of in-house and vendor technologies Qualifications Desired 1. Experience with modern web development toolkits such as Angular and Bootstrap 2. Experience with Java ORMs such as Hibernate with Microsoft SQL Server data-tier 3. Experience in a mixed environment, integrating with Microsoft, InterSystems, and Java 4. Experience with Interface engines such as InterfaceWare, Corepoint, or Cloverleaf 5. Diagnostic Laboratory and/or Healthcare Industry experience Additional Requirements 1. Superior motivation, decision-making and communication skills 2.
