Document Delivery Service for free
Thursday 10th May, 2007 - Judith Modeste

Spread the word - the Global Development Network (GDN) and the British
Library of Development Studies (BLDS) have teamed up to address a key
challenge for many researchers in developing and transition countries,
namely, access to the latest development knowledge. Through the GDN/BLDS
Document Delivery Service, much-needed development-related information is
provided to research institutes mainly in developing countries at no cost.
In its collection the BLDS has over 1000 journals, 4000 serials and over
80,000 monographs concerned specifically with development. A particular
strength of the BLDS collection is its extensive coverage of publications
from countries of the South, particularly from Africa and South and East
Asia. Its collection is reputed to contain a "unique source of primary
information, including grey literature, much of which is not digitally
available". The GDN covers the cost of delivery of the information to the
client...so it's free of charge.
