Annual ConferenceInternational Association of Music Libraries Archives and
Documentation Centres (IAML)International Musicological Society (IMS)
Amsterdam, The Netherlands 5-10 July 2009

The Dutch IAML and the IMS invite you to the conference from 5 - 10 July 2009
in Amsterdam.

The conference will take place in the brand new conservatoire (opening in
2008). The conservatoire is being built next to the prestigious Public Library
of Amsterdam which opened its doors in July 2007.

Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands has more than 700.000 inhabitants.
The city experienced a golden age in the 17th century and is still very vibrant
culturally. Amsterdam is the city of Rembrandt, the United Dutch East Asia
Company (VOC), Sweelinck, Locatelli, early music publishers, Heineken beer,
Ajax, the football club and the Van Gogh museum.

Come and experience the rich music life of Amsterdam.
Amsterdam has the Concertgebouw (famous for its wonderful acoustics) and The
Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. But there is much more to enjoy. Modern music
and jazz in the new Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, blues and pop in the Melkweg (Milky
Way) and Paradiso, international artists in the Heineken Music Hall and much
more. The sounds of carillons accompany you on your walks through the city.

The conservatoire is centrally located near the river IJ a short walk from the
Central Railway Station. The historical canals which harbour most of the
tourist attractions are just a stroll away.

On Friday July 20th 2008 we presented our promotion film at the IAML Conference
in Naples.

We invite you warmly to come to the IAML Conference 2009
