Hi, How difficult would it be to make the backend of bibdesk more scalable? Currently searching chokes for me with approximately 50,000 entries. I would like to be able to manage tens of millions of entries--complete with abstracts--and search them with near instantaneous speed.
Clearly that is not possible with the current backend. Would it be possible to replace the current backend with an SQLite / Lucene combination or some other database and full text search engine combo (could spotlight light be utilized? is it already? would it be too inefficient?)? How much work would that take? -Scott (sorry if I should be posting this to the users list, I was not sure where this belonged) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
