The best import format is BibTeX, though a variety of plain text  
formats are supported.  If you need help on the syntax, feel free to  
ask.  It's basically

@typeOfReference{citeKey,
field = {value},
field2 = {value2}
}

where typeOfReference is one of the standard BibTeX types, and citeKey  
should be some ASCII alphanumeric string (can be regenerated after  
import to BibDesk).
