True, but a handler of any event can presumably do things that make
Bibdesk's behaviour unpredictable.  E.g., a Will Add File hook
script could delete the file that is being added.  There's an
element of "let the buyer beware" whenever hook scripts are used in
any app.

In any case, I agree that adding the new hook is not the right way
to go in this case.
