What does it matter, whether it is supported or not? Just use it. It works fine
(all this based on my use only under 10.6.8).

Ok, thanks for the update.

Eventually, Xcode 3.4 and the 3.X branch will no longer be supported? Then we
will all have to change whether we like it or not. Right?

Yes, there are quite a few changes. Mostly replacement of old API with new API.
And there is a big change coming. Also, the localizations have not been updated

So is the code in a state in which it's ready for release using Xcode 4? Xcode
3 doesn't work so well on my Snow Leopard machine? If so, what settings should
I use? Maybe update the how to release document.

It should be compatible with Xcode 4. Though I have not checked this for a
while. It's not very doable to switch between Xcode 3 & 4, as they change files
in different ways and I don't want to keep undoing those changes. And I really
don't like Xcode 4 for several reasons. When I have committed my current
changes I will recheck it still works.

AFAIK it should not matter if you use the 32 or 64 bit scheme for release
builds (i.e. Archive), because both archs are build in all cases in this case
(only for debug builds does it make a difference). The products are build in a
weird location like
~/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/BibDesk-xxxxxxxxxxx/Build/Products/Release/,
but that should not be relevant because the .dmg will always be put in
~/Desktop by our build script.

Ok, I'll wait. It's been so long since a release, and miraculously, I am caught
up with other work, Soni wanted to seize the opportunity.

I'll start using nightly builds regularly and see what happens.

Dear everyone,

Unless there is some compelling reason not to, I would like to do a release
ASAP, as in preferably *right now.* A two-day old nightly build works
satisfactorily, and is most certainly faster to open and snappier than the
release. Seems so to me anyhow.
