There is no dedicated method for merging databases, but it can be done in many ways:
- drag and drop of items from one window on the window of the other - drag and drop of one file on the window of the other - adding an External File Group for the other file and merging in the items (this can be handy to filter out duplicates). As for consolidating, that depends on your auto-file preferences (in particular if it is releative to the document).
