From a first look it seems nice, but I cannot really test it since I'm at work. Just one general question: Do I understand this correctly that the composer is currently limited to the available 15 fields? The great thing about bibtex (and also the templates) is that you can add any kind of fields you want. Would some kind of generic field where the user can edit the field name be possible?
