1. Can someone provide an export template for an "APA like"
bibliography / reference list? Personally, I find APA Style to
arbitrary and inconsistent (so I know I'll need to clean up the
list), but it's the standard in my field, so I have to use it.
Check out this template, posted to the wiki:

That's more an APA inline citation. If you use the latest nightlies,
you can use the built-in template editor to easily create your own
template. The template below I just created using this in about a
minute (most of the time to look spend to look up the definition of
the APA style). It includes the style for an article and a book.
<$publications>
<$pubType=article?>
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]/> <
$fields.Year.parenthesizedStringIfNotEmpty/>. <
$fields.Title.titleCapitalizedString/>. <$fields.Journal/>, <
$fields.Volume/><$fields.Number.parenthesizedStringIfNotEmpty/>, <
$fields.Pages/>.<?$pubType=book?>
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]/> <
$fields.Year.parenthesizedStringIfNotEmpty/>. <
$fields.Title.titleCapitalizedString/>. <$fields.Journal/>, <
$fields.Volume/><$fields.Number.parenthesizedStringIfNotEmpty/>, <
$fields.Pages/>.<?$pubType?>
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]/> <
$fields.Year.parenthesizedStringIfNotEmpty/>. <
$fields.Title.titleCapitalizedString/>. <$fields.Journal/>, <
$fields.Volume/><$fields.Number.parenthesizedStringIfNotEmpty/>, <
$fields.Pages/>.</$pubType?>
</$publications>
