This is an excellent example of a bug report; thanks!  Due to  
differences in terminology, it's best to think of us developers as  
compleat idiots when describing how to reproduce a bug.  If there are  
multiple ways to do something, we might pick the wrong way and tell  
you it works fine.

Even better, this says that it's likely a pasteboard (system)  
problem.  A reboot should cure it; it's likely the pasteboard server  
has died.
