I've been doing some rewrites on the view that BibDesk uses to display
files, but I'm having problems with it on my dual G5 (10.5.2). If
anyone has time for a quick trial, either on a G5 or other hardware,
please download

http://homepage.mac.com/amaxwell/.Public/FileView%20Program.app.zip

launch the program, and drop a hundred or more PDF files into its main
window.

The files won't be moved or copied!

If the test program hangs, please sample it with Activity Monitor, and
then force-quit the test program. On my G5, I get a hang after
scrolling due to the system's font server, but my MacBook Pro has no
issues.

It should also work on 10.4, but I no longer have a way to test that.

As a side note: Christiaan asked a while ago if it were possible to
toggle between a single and multiple column layout. It's possible using
a tabless tabview, and the demo program now has that option on the
context menu.
