That explains it. This is raw AppleScript text, and a .scpt file is
supposed to be compiled AppleScript. You should paste it into Script
Editor and save it as a .scpt file instead.

Are you even using auto-file? Otherwise you should add it to the
"Add File or URL" script hook.
