Yeah, autocomplete is global; it's shared across all documents and 
persists until you quit the program.  This is one of those features 
that's generally useful but occasionally annoying :).  We've had 
numerous comments over the years about it retaining misspelled words 
(though this is less a problem with the current editor autocomplete).

It seems like a fast double-click actually works pretty reliably, oddly 
enough.
