Also -- and this is a bit obscure -- if you set the bottom or side  
preview panel to show attached files and then control-click on its  
background, you will see a contextual menu that includes "Single  
Column" as one of the choices. If Single Column is checked, the file  
preview images will resize to fit the panel. If it is unchecked, you  
can hover the cursor near the top of the panel and a slider will  
appear that lets you resize the previews. This is particularly useful  
if you like to have a large preview of the first linked PDF in, for  
example, the bottom panel.
