Dear Christiaan, Here is the error I got trying to update a bibtex entry Error: 712. Failed to change BibTeX info for 0805.2261. The variable theFile is not defined.
As you say there is no reference to the theFile variable in that block; so I am not sure what the cause of trouble is.
