Be aware that it's not BibDesk's style, it's a bibtex style. BibDesk  
merely uses it, it's hardly involved. So this is more like a bibtex  
question. Also, the "misc" type has very few standard fields, so that  
probably explains why Editor is ignored for most bibtex styles. And  
for a custom style, well, it can be anything.
