I have a bigger question: How do I get Google Scholar at all? I'm
using BibDesk 1.3.19, and the choices I get are: PubMed, Library of
Congress, Web of Science SCI, and DBLP++ Keywords.

Indeed, I sometimes wonder if I'd be better off with JabRef, because
the three sources I use most are ACM Portal, IEEE, and Google Scholar
(probably in that order).
