Congratulations, you've encountered an Apple font handling bug. One of the PDF files that's attached probably has a malformed embedded font, and Apple's font server has multiple memory corruption bugs. Maybe resetting your font cache will "fix" things, or updating to 10.5 might help. My bug report on a similar issue was marked a duplicate of rdar://problem/406603, which means it's been unfixed since late 2004/early 2005. Lame.
