I agree with others that I want clicking to open the entry for editing  
not to open the PDF.

I have a different but somewhat related suggestion:

In the main grid, with the right-side panel open that shows the  
thumbnails, I want to be able to drag a PDF of the paper into that  
right-side panel. Now I have to click to get into editing, and then  
drag the paper.

For me, it's quite common to be working with an existing .bib file,  
and go and get the PDF and want to add it in but make no other changes.
