Christiaan: I'm not sure I understand. In 1.3.18 - I would get a popup window when BibDesk would connect to the internet In 1.3.21 I do not get this window and I can't connect to the internet from behind the proxy.
Something was working in 1.3.18 that is no longer working. So are you saying that something in the WebKit may have changed so that is why the change from .18 to .21? Should I put in a formal feature request for a Proxy preference in BibDesk? -- Sam -------------------------- Samuel Gasster muondude AT yahoo.com -------------------------- ----- Original Message ---- From: Christiaan Hofman <[email protected]> To: For general discussion about using BibDesk <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, June 30, 2009 2:22:49 PM Subject: Re: [Bibdesk-users] BibDesk 1.3.21 behind a Proxy Firewall On Jun 30, 2009, at 9:17 PM, Samuel Gasster wrote: > > I recently upgraded from BibDesk 1.3.18 to 1.3.21. > > I use BibDesk behind our corporate firewall that requires a proxy > user ID and password > to access the internet. > > BibDesk 1.3.18 had a window that would open where I could enter that > information > and it seemed to work fine. > > 1.3.21 doesn't seem to have this and the Web Group interface seems > to always > timeout. So I'm assuming it is a proxy problem. I am not sure where the window comes from and why it's not shown. It may be a side effect of some changes to improve other behavior. The WebKit documentation is really incomplete and dense.
