Thanks again. I had tried the folder that you suggest (and that the "help" also
suggests) but couldn't get it to work. But after taking a better look at the
location of my tex files I figured out where to place the bst file. Now it's

The popup only shows the standard styles. But it's essentially just a text
field with some added gadgets, so you can type anything you want.
Of course in order for it to work, it must be in a place where TeX can find it.
For most TeX distributions the standard place is ~/Library/texmf/bibtex/bst/.

OK, I see that the field after "BibTeX style" is not properly enabled when you
turn on TeX preview. The solution is to just relaunch BibDesk. Will be fixed in
the next nightly.
