what do you mean by "my file". Is it not a standard bst-file that comes with 
texlive?
You could send your bst-file as attachment so that I can check with that file 
what results I get.  Also, what is your OS and what version of BD are you 
using? What kind of error do you get? Can you use vancouver.bst in regular 
tex-files without getting errors?
