I just switched to Snow Leopard (I know rather late, but I was waiting for some 
programs to be updated).  I have the bibtex database on a network attached 
storage device (Lacie unix based) that is mounted on my mac via smb:.  I find 
that sometimes now I am unable to get bibdesk to open a file in preview (or 
acrobat for that matter) and sometimes it works.  This behavior is reproducible 
and seems to vary by file.  I have not carefully tracked down exactly what is 
happening, but I thought I would first ask if anyone else has seen this 
problem.  I have been naming files with Author - Full Paper Title.  Could 
something in the title be breaking under Snow Leopard.  I find I am unable to 
open the files that exhibit this symptom even in the finder by double clicking 
for instance.  I am however, able to copy them to my (hfs) mac desktop and open 
them at will.  Is this some known Snow Leopard bug and if so what 
characteristics (length, special characters etc.) give rise to this problem.  
The weird thing is that I can see the pdf files in the preview pane within 
BibDesk implying that this is a finder bug, but I would like to tap the 
collective wisdom of this list to try and track down the cause.  Thanks for
