Google indicates that hitting that buffer limit isn't exactly uncommon, even
without BibDesk's use of @comment. Unfortunately, BibTeX is pretty ancient.
It's strange that BibTeX is even seeing it, since it's at the end of the file;
IIRC they're stored there to avoid this problem. Do you have a minimal
.bib/.tex file pair to reproduce it?
