As part of a project with several colleagues, I got a large Endnote data base.
I exported it and now have access to it via bibdesk, but I am having trouble
using it.

I am writing an article (with TeXShop) using Chicago style references. I
downloaded chicago.bst and chicago.sty from CTAN. It seems to work OK, except
for the bibliography list. The article bibliography has the Chicago fields, but
also shows two fields the team created in Endnotes, `notes` and `research
notes`. I do not want these to appear, just the Chicago fields.

I will want to use these fields in a subsequent article, as well as, the
`abstract` field.  `abstract` as well as `notes` and `research notes` survive
in the exported data base, just as they are in the Endnote data base. But
`abstract` does not show up in the article bibliography, just `notes' and
`research notes`.

I looked in bibdesk Default Fields->Advanced->Custom BibTeX Types and
Fields->Edit
and found `article' with required fields `Author, Title, Journal, Year` and
optional fields `Volume, Number, Pages, Month'. There is no mention of fields
`notes`, `research notes`, `abstract`.  I don't know what to do, so did nothing
with these settings.

How do I make the unwanted fields `notes` and `research notes` disappear from
the article bibliography?

And how do I get `abstract' to appear when I want it?
