Hi,

I just started having some strange behavior with bibdesk. If I set the PDF
viewer (in preferences>default fields>local file viewer) to "Skim" and try to
open a local PDF attached to a bibdesk entry, the window loses focus but Skim
does not open. This is the only place where things are acting up: When I set it
to anything else (Preview, Adobe Acrobat, etc), it works normally. In Finder if
I set a PDF to open with Skim by default, that works normally as well.
Right-clicking on the file in bibdesk and choosing 'open with > Skim also works
just fine.

Additionally, in the dropdown list in bibdesk's preferences, the entry for Skim
does not have an icon next to it. In bibdesk's preferences file (plist), the
entry for 'BDSKDefaultViewersKey>pdf' is 'net.sourceforge.skim-app.skim'.

I have tried a number of things to fix this, including reinstalling skim,
choosing Skim.app manually (rather than from the dropdown) in bibdesk's
preferences and deleting the 'BDSKDefaultViewersKey' branch in the preferences
plist.

This is not a horrible inconvenience (I just need to right-click the file and
choose 'open with'), but I would like to figure out the cause.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks,

Peter
