Ouch! I've known other people with iBook problems, but not that bad. I have a Pismo PowerBook (from 2000, shipped with OS 9) that I use as an MP3 player in the garage; it runs 10.4 just fine. I'm typing this a 6-year old PowerBook G4, which has also been trouble free, in spite of coffee and beer being dumped into the keyboard (though not at the same time!).
