No there aren't and AppleScript is pretty straightforward. IMHO it is a good
philosophy by BD developers, notably Christiaan, to not overload the basic
program with too many features risking to get a buggy BD. AppleScript is not
that difficult to learn and there are plenty of examples around that almost do
what you want. For instance I have written one that extracts all info for all
linked files of currently selected records

        http://www.sysecol.ethz.ch/people/afischli/software Inspect Linked
Files

The only change you would need to make is write the results not into an alert
but into a text field of the currently processed record. Then you can easily
extract it under linux from the .bib-file.

And if you do not care about the difference between real pdf files, symbolic
links, or aliases, then you could even simplify my algorithm even more.

Andreas

Start uncovering the many advantages of virtual appliances
and start using them to simplify application deployment and
accelerate your shift to cloud computing.
