Since Adobe supports these metadata inside the pdf.
There used to be an experimental hidden preference to do this, but I think it was removed. At the time, Apple's PDF saving code had some problems, so it was a potentially destructive operation. I think you can still get it to read the PDF metadata using BDSKShouldUsePDFMetadata [1], but that seldom saves any typing. Unfortunately, PDF metadata is much less reliable than mp3 metadata, even when the PDF comes from a commercial publisher. Adobe XMP [2] is a way of embedding metadata in various file types, but Adobe's libraries do not provide read/write support for PDF (or didn't last time I checked). This would let you non-destructively add arbitrary tags to a document, though, such as a BibTeX record. -- Adam [1] https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/bibdesk/index.php?title=Tips_and_Tricks [2] http://www.adobe.com/products/xmp/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Simplify data backup and recovery for your virtual environment with vRanger.
