It *can* handle remote URLs. It adds .webloc files for those. Though Finder 
does seem to reject mixed sets.

Or select them in the pane and then drag them, that's probably easier.

No, there's no way to do that.

However what you can do is add a Local File column to the main table, and drag 
the files from that column.
