I don't recall what style supports the URL type; it's been in BibDesk a long time, but is not generally useful, and I don't recommend using it. For citing a URL, take a look at the TeX FAQ: http://www.tex.ac.uk/cgi-bin/texfaq2html?label=citeURL The @misc technique is the simplest, unless you use urlbst (which BibDesk also supports, insofar as it has a webpage type).
