Hello BibDesk Users,

I've been using the excellent Zot2Bib Firefox extension
(http://mackerron.com/zot2bib/) that makes it easy to import references
using Zotero directly into a chosen .bib file in BibDesk.

The one option that was lacking was the ability to bring along the
scraped PDF file so that it could be auto-filed and attached to the
corresponding entry in BibDesk. In a fork of Zot2Bib,

http://github.com/vancleve/Zot2Bib ,

I have added this functionality. You can now choose a download folder
to save the scraped PDF in, open the scraped PDF automatically, and
auto-file the PDF once the reference has been added to BibDesk.

The great thing is that with these modifications, you can simply click
on the Save to Zotero button in the address bar and the reference and
PDF make it to BibDesk in one step.

These modifications are very, very alpha, but I'd love for people who
like Zot2Bib to take a look and find bugs or make additional
modifications (bug/suggestions/modifications should be added on github).

To install the extension, click on the "Download ZIP" button on the
github page. Unzip the file, open the Terminal, and go into the
"Zot2Bib-master" directory that was just created. You can create an
installable Firefox extension by simply zipping the contents of this
directory:

user@host Zot2Bib-master> zip -r zot2bib.xpi *

Then, add the extension in Firefox by going to Add-ons, clicking
"Install Add-on From File", and selecting the .xpi file you create above.

Best regards,

Jeremy
