Hello All On vacation recently on Mt Desert Island we rented road bikes and it was the first time my partner has ridden a drop bar bike (currently I have her on a RANS crank forward, so she has gotten used to riding on the road and on road tires). She liked the road bike so I'd like to build up a frame for her. I'd like to find a used frame/fork and go from there. I'd like to find a frame that has clearance for fenders and can accept racks. I'd prefer it to be steel. I know about the Trek 520, and see these on eBay from time to time (I'm looking for a 48-50mm frame). What other frames should I keep an eye out for that fits these criteria?
Thank you Marc Rosenbaum Meriden, NH (various bikes, currently mostly riding the Bob Jackson again that was made for me in 1972, thanks to the Nitto Dirtdrop stem, a better saddle, and Peter White's advice to move the seat back :-). An eclectic mix of old and new - vintage Campy brakes, levers, headset, seatpost, PW BB and Sugino AT cranks, Nitto bars/stem, Dura Ace 9 speed barcons and XTR RD/R443 FD, Nimble Spider wheelset. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Bicycle Lifestyle" group.
