I use Pitlocks and disc brakes on a Schwinn World DBX (http://
www.bikepedia.com/Quickbike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2007&Brand=Schwinn&Model=World+DBX&Type=bike)
modified with PJW wheels without any trouble front or rear. I use a
5mm allen wrench through the Pitlock holes to tighten them up, so I'm
clearly not using threadstripping force, but I do do a 3/4 to full
revolution after it starts to tighten up.
