Sure is.
I picked up a Motobecane mixte 5-6 weeks ago, mostly because I liked
the frame quality and the front end geometry (fast steering). I didn't
know bupkus about the parts hanging on it. It had these goofy looking
Suntour thumb shifters, I figured I'd ride it for errands and replace
whatever seemed crappy. Well... the goofy thumb shifters turned out to
be fabulous. I like them as much as the XTR rapid shifters on my trail
bike.
So you never know. The bike rides great. Your's might too.
