There seems to be plenty of choice. I will roll the dice and find out if my existing fork is strong enough. It should be, the weight is resting on the axle and the torque is assisted by the handlebars since the rack attaches to them as well. A Matchak fork seems like an option once the kids get through college - what an impressive collection of theory and experience must rattle around in his head. His article on re-raking forks is exactly the kind of thing every builder should know, but suspect that even the really good ones only know by feel instead of knowing why. Reminds of 18th & 19th century scientists working out theories of how things work because they are interesting. Thanks for the help!
