An aluminum rack attached to an aluminum frame is foaming at the
(presumably steel) machine screws. The foam looks like the cruft that
gathered around battery posts in old cars. The wire that powers the
taillight from the hub generator is wrapped around the center of the
rack a couple times.

This rack did not cause any foaming on the aluminum frame it used to
be on - but it didn't have a wire running through it either.

Is this an expected reaction? Could the wire be helping? If I wrap the
wire more closely could it create enough torque to run a propeller?

I'd like to stop the foaming - any tips or should I treat it like a
battery post and coat it in Vaseline once in a while?

Best Regards,

Robert
